About Us
The Reason This Site Exists…
Small Biz Ideas exists to give you ideas and information for starting a home business and growing it into a profitable enterprise — if that's what you would like to do — by sharing my experiences with you. I hope to earn your trust and confidence by providing useful techniques, solutions and proven business-building strategies.
Why?… you may be wondering? We don't even know one another.
Because I have a passion for freedom and independence, and I've discovered how to have it… because of my small small business! I want you and anyone else who wants it to become successful and live life your way!
I also happen to believe in karma. I've benefited again and again from help others have given me — and it's time for me to pay it forward — to help others as I've been helped.
Trial and error has been a good teacher… and it has definitely taught me a thing or two about building and operating a business online.
Do you want to know the one single thing that changed everything for me? It was a seemingly simply product called Site Build It!. SBI changed everything for me … no doubt about it!
As I said earlier , building an online business is all about being independant and having the freedom to do as I please. Site Build It! helped me get there.
Nearly everything I recommend are products and services I use in my business. If they aren't useful, they don't get my stamp of approval. Period. I won't recommend anything simply for a buck.
Finally, try to remember that running a business should be fun. Choose to do for a living what you would do whether or not you were paid to do it, and you will be greatly rewarded.
My Story
Jumping into small business ownership wasn't a big stretch for me because I came from a long line of entrepreneurs.
From the time I was a little kid I watched my dad building his business. Lacking a formal education, he worked extra hard to overcome that shortcoming and to achieve the success he eventually attained. I really admired my dad then. His tenacity and work ethic was the model for my own career.
Following high school and still a headstrong teeny bopper, I decided to put college on hold and enter the work force instead. Hey, what did I know!? Guess what? It didn't take long to discover that working in a department store was not very fulfilling, not to mention lousy pay. After a year or so, I wised up, took a job with an electronics firm, and headed back to school at night.
The years that followed kept me busy raising a family, finishing my formal education, and climbing the proverbial corporate ladder. But one night as I drove home following a casual conversation with one of my colleagues, it suddenly occurred to me that despite a comfy position and healthy paycheck… I really wasn't happy!
Waking up to the realization that I was wasting my life made me step back and take a long, hard look at everything I was doing. It was time to shake things up a bit, step out of my comfort zone and do something different.
It didn't take long to decide. I simply followed my heart… I wanted to start a business. So I shifted into high-gear and started brainstorming… learning… planning… and finally taking action.
That was 18 years ago. The shift from employee to entrepreneur opened the doors to a whole new life…
Today, because of the Internet, I work from home and enjoy the independence and freedom I always craved. The journey is still in progress, there have been many challenges along the way, but my focus and determination remains steadfast.
Do I ever feel like quitting? Sure… sometimes. Then I think about my daughter saying to me… "Mom, I'm SO proud of you!" … and all I can think of is how to do better.
I look forward to each and every day with anticipation and excitement that only comes from doing what you love. Would I trade my online business for the 'security' of a J.O.B.? Not on your life!
Being a small business owner has given life to a vision that grew out of my imagination. From creation through the day-to-day doing it, I have undergone a life-changing transformation that could only have come about by taking the road less traveled.
Won't you join me — and others like me?
